This document contains all information and forms needed to run a USTA Virginia sanctioned tournament - from submitting a sanction application, to reporting completed tournament results, and everything in between.
Tournament Directors are required to be familiar with all contents and adhere to all regulations contained within the USTA Virginia Tennis Online Tournament Directors' Packet and the Friend at Court (The USTA Handbook of Tennis Rules and Regulations). Additionally, all results from USTA sanctioned tournaments are used in the calculations of USTA Virginia Tennis standings and rankings, so tournament directors are required to be familiar with USTA Virginia Tennis Rankings, Standings and Endorsement Regulations. Most results from tournaments sanctioned by USTA Virginia Tennis are also used in USTA MAS Junior or Adult standings and rankings, and USTA National Adult standings and rankings.
Tournament Directors are welcome and encouraged to print this document and distribute it to all tournament staff. Because this document is updated as is necessary, tournament directors shall review the Online Tournament Director's Packet prior to every tournament they hold. Updates to the Online Tournament Director's Packet are always clearly marked in red text.
